Earth Wind & Fire, “In September,” made its big move of the week on the TikTok Billboard Top 50, forcefully entering at number 3 on the chart. FamousSally and YB are the first artists to lead the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart for more than one week, as “Wassup Gwayy” remained at number 1 on September 30. The TikTok Billboard Top 50, which started two weeks ago, is a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on TikTok in the United States based on creations, video views, and user engagement. The latest ranking reflects activity from September 18 to 24. It’s important to note that TikTok activity is not included in Billboard charts, except for the TikTok Billboard Top 50.

“Wassup Gwayy” debuted at number 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 on September 23. In the tracking week from September 15 to 21, the song received 495,000 official streams in the United States, according to Luminate. While the song reigns over Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red,” which returned to number 2 on the inaugural survey on September 16, it quickly dropped to number 3. After spending just one week at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

But it doesn’t end there: one of Earth Wind & Fire’s most famous songs, “September,” made its big move of the week on the TikTok Billboard Top 50, forcefully entering at number 3 on the chart. The song, which reached number 8 on the Hot 100 in February 1979, moves every year around September 21, thanks to the opening verse that mentions the date. TikTok is no exception, with many users incorporating the song into their routines and videos. “September” recorded a 31% jump, reaching 5.5 million streams from September 15 to 21.

And then: “I Love You Hoe” by Odetari and 9lives continues its steady rise on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 at number 4; it debuted at number 7 on the inaugural list, followed by a move to number 5 the following week. At number 5, for the first time in the top five, is “Darkest Before Dawn” by BashfortheWorld. While the former has achieved more success on the Billboard chart, including number 3 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, the latter has not yet entered the chart. The rap song was originally released in 2020 but has surged in recent weeks, totaling 704,000 streams from September 15 to 21, with a 75% increase. And for the curious ones, to see the other debuts of Tate McRae, Dominic Fike, Kenya Grace, and more, you can consult the complete TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart.”
